Brooke Williamson is the Co-Executive Chef and Co-Owner of Hudson House in Redondo Beach, CA and The Tripel in Playa del Rey, California. She was a finalist in Bravo's 2013 Top Chef television competition, coming in second behind Kristen Kish. She started her professional cooking career in 1997.

Chef Brooke has no formal education as a chef, having started as a teacher’s assistant at the Epicurean Institute of Los Angeles at age 15. Then, at age 18 she became a pastry assistant at Fenix at the Argyle Hotel and was soon offered a job in the savory kitchen by Chef Ken Frank. Next, she moved to Michael's in Santa Monica, becoming Sous Chef within a year. She had a short internship at Daniel in New York, then moved back to Los Angeles to become Executive Chef at Boxer. She only worked there briefly before she was snatched up to become Executive Chef at Zax, in the Brentwood district, where Chef Brooke grew up.

Zax was owned by Chris Schaefer, a veteran of the L.A. dining scene, who bought the Woodside after it went out of business. It was a small place where the cooking was done right behind the bar. Out of this tiny kitchen, Brooke served up things like an jumbo grilled asparagus appetizer, marinated Spanish anchovies, braised veal cheeks with pappardelle, grilled Alaskan halibut with lemon-braised artichokes, and a duck breast served with a confit leg, to name a few.

While Chef at Zax, she was called a "culinary wunderkind" by The Los Angeles Times. Also during that time, she was the youngest chef ever to cook at the James Beard House.

After Zax, she opened Amuse Café with her husband, Nick Roberts, serving mostly small plates of steamed mussels, seasonal salads, fish and vegetables, and a rib eye burger. The duo was unable to obtain a liquor license, however so they teamed up with Brig owner David Reiss to open Beechwood, which had a full bar. They opened Hudson House together in 2009, and then later The Tripel.

Brookes official Twitter Page is ChefBrookeW. If you're in the Redondo Beach area, and you'd like to dine at Hudson House, you can get directions at the website. Or, visit The Tripel in Playa Del Rey.
